♥ This training will take place in a large mountain home on 4 serene acres outside of Nevada City, CA. Comfortable on-site acommodations are available for various budgets. Scroll further for more information. There is a small health food market 5 minutes away. The closest airport is Sacramento International.
Just as we encourage new mothers to retreat from the world after birth, so too will you retreat to the peaceful Sierra Nevada Foothills to immerse yourself in learning these two powerful forms of healing massage.
This retreat-style learning model reflects both the experience you are creating for your clients, as well as the reality of working in the home rather than a massage office.
♥ We will gather at 9 am for our morning training session which will include relevant theory, ethics, demo and practice.
This will be followed by a break and catered lunch showcasing vegetarian postpartum healing foods.
After the break we will continue on with our afternoon practice session.
The evenings are free to relax by the fireplace, soak in the hot tub or drive into Nevada City and grab a bite with your classmates.
Ayurvedic Postpartum Mother’s Massage
Warm herbal oil massage is an essential element of Ayurveda’s postpartum care strategy for healing new mother’s.
In this 3 day/21 hour course you will learn and perform full body Ayurvedic postpartum massage, learn belly wrapping and self massage techniques as well as how to make herbal massage oils.

Ayurvedic Baby Massage and Instruction
Daily baby massage with warm herbal oils is one of the most important gifts a parent can give their baby.
Known to have massive health benefits for baby’s strong growth and development, this class will give you the tools you need to empower parents to improve their baby’s health through massage.
In this 1 day/7 hour class you will learn the ayurvedic baby massage sequence, bathing techniques, how to make mild pudding soap and appropriate herbal oils as well as how to instruct parents in these simple techniques.

The training will be held in a beautiful 6 bedroom, 2 bath mountain home 25 minutes outside of historic Nevada City, CA. This 4 acre property is in a secluded park-like setting with a pond, hot tub, fireplace and wrap around deck.
(1) Master bedroom (1st floor) – This is the only bedroom on the main level of the home. This light filled room comes with a King tempurpedic mattress, connected bathroom, meditation zone, loft and porch access.
(2) Private rooms (2nd floor) – These simple but beautiful rooms come each with a queen tempurpedic mattress, wood floors and closet. One has a private deck.
(3) Shared bedrooms (2nd + 3rd floors) – A great option for those on a limited budget. Two twin mattresses per room.

Board Certified Ayurvedic Practitoner, Board Certified Massage Therapist , Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula
Ameya Duprey has been practicing Ayurveda since 2004. She graduated from Alakananda Ma’s school Alandi Ayurvedic Gurukula in Boulder, CO as a Pancha Karma Therapist.
In 2005 she became certified in massage therapy through The Guild Of Structural Integration.
In 2008 she began teaching Ayurvedic massage and other therapies at Alandi Ayurvedic Gurukula.
In 2011 she learned Ayurvedic postpartum care from her teacher Ysha Oakes, completing the program and becoming an Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula.
Since then, Ameya has been helping heal mother’s and babies through the time tested practices of Ayurvedic Postpartum Care.
